Here is where you'll find various tips to help with local and international travel.
While you may want to stay in the center of all the action, you will pay more for doing so. Consider instead, staying one subway ride away from the center. You'll save money and get to experience some of the local life by taking the subway.
Be mindful that many cities' airports are far from the main part of the action-packed, tourist sections of town. You have several choices for transfers, in the form of public transportation, a car rental, or a private driver. Private drivers are more expensive than public transportation, but after a long flight, trying to navigate a subway with a change may be just too much. And some are not as expensive as you might think!
Every little bit adds up, or hopefully, gives you room. Unless you're traveling for a special event, try to be ok limiting your personal items. Stuff your shoes with smaller items, wrap belts along the edges of your suitcase. Contact me for more space-saving tips! If I can go on a round-the-world trip with a backpack and carry-on, so can you!
Two tips about seat belts. First one is wear it, even if the sign is off, if you're seated. Pockets of turbulence can come out of nowhere, and people have been injured if they're not wearing the seat belt. And the second one is, don't be shy about asking for a seat belt extender. Some seat belts have been cut and re-sewn and the belts are shorter than others on the same plane. Not all seat belts are the same, so if you want to buy your own, call me and let's discuss which airline you'll be on.
